On March 11, the College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education course featured an inspiring lecture titled Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Pain and Joy. The session invited Du Sen, Manager of Shanghai Puyang Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., as the keynote speaker. He shared his extensive entrepreneurial experience and profound insights into technological innovation with faculty and students in Classroom 302 of the Industry-Education Building on the Changning Campus.
During the lecture, he fondly recounted his entrepreneurial journey, sharing both the hardships and joys along the way. Mr. Du Sen graduated from the University of Sheffield in the UK in 2008, where he worked as a laboratory teaching assistant, gaining valuable academic and practical experience. In 2009, he entered the corporate world, joining Pipeten Networks. However, his passion for entrepreneurship didn't stop there. That same year, he left Pipeten to found his first startup, focusing on online travel products. In 2011, Mr. Du returned to China and joined Chinahuge as a co-founder, where he continued to deepen his expertise in business management and market expansion. In 2015, leveraging his sharp insights and substantial experience in the electronics technology industry, he established Shanghai Puyang Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., where he remains dedicated to this day. He reflected that each venture presented entirely new challenges, requiring continuous trial, error, and perseverance—a spirit that has carried him through to where he is now.
Mr. Du placed special emphasis on the importance of technological innovation in the entrepreneurial process. He stated that technological innovation is the core driver of enterprise development, and only through continuous innovation can a company stand out in a highly competitive market. Using case studies from his own company, he demonstrated to the students how technological innovation can create competitive advantages and expand market share.
The lecture was met with an enthusiastic response, as students were deeply engaged by Mr. Du's entrepreneurial stories and his perspectives on innovation. Many expressed that his sharing provided them with a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship and a renewed appreciation for the critical role of technological innovation. They committed to actively learning from Mr. Du’s entrepreneurial spirit and innovative mindset, laying a solid foundation for their own future ventures.
