On the evening of March 17, 2025, to enhance students' psychological well-being and strengthen campus safety, the International Institute of Creative Design held a thematic class meeting titled Life, Health, and Campus Safety in Classroom 805. Wu Zeming, a psychological counselor from the Mental Health Education Center of Shanghai University of Engineering Science, delivered a lecture centered on the theme Creativity Heals the Mind, Design Empowers Growth. The meeting was chaired by Ma Jianli, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Art and Design, who participated throughout the event.

Wu Zeming began by introducing the concept of mental internal consumption and identified groups more susceptible to this condition. He reminded students to consistently monitor their mental well-being and avoid falling into patterns of psychological exhaustion. He then proposed that artistic healing can bridge creativity and mental health, explaining how design thinking can be applied to address emotional challenges. For instance, by giving emotions tangible form through creative expression, students can better understand and manage their feelings. He also demonstrated how the Institute's technological resources, such as AI and digital art, can make psychological expression more vivid and intuitive. Finally, he emphasized that creativity is not only a professional skill but also a tool to illuminate the inner self. He expressed his hope that every student would not only shape beauty through design but also nurture their inner world.
Through this thematic class meeting, students gained a deeper understanding of mental health and campus safety, while acquiring practical psychological adjustment techniques. The International Institute of Creative Design will continue to prioritize students' mental well-being, supporting them to pursue excellence in their creative design journeys while safeguarding their psychological health.
