Enhancing Comprehensive Capabilities and Promoting Teaching Development | Teaching Seminar of the Department of Digital Media Art

On 28 February 2025, the Department of Digital Media Art at the International Institute of Creative Design (IICD) held a teaching seminar for the new semester in room G905 of the Industry-Education Integration Building. The seminar, hosted by Ms Xian Yan, brought together both Chinese and Korean faculty members to discuss plans and directions for the new semester.

Professor Gu Yi, Dean of the Institute, opened the meeting by emphasising the spirit of cooperation between Chinese and Korean faculty members, encouraging them to work closely together to foster professional development.

Ms Xian Yan then summarised the teaching situation during the first two weeks of the semester, emphasising the importance of teaching standards and urging faculty members to ensure orderly teaching practices. To deepen educational reform, Ms Xian encouraged teaching staff to maintain high standards and rigorously adhere to academic guidelines. She also urged teachers to actively engage in research and innovation in AI-driven teaching practice, continuously optimising course content and teaching methodologies. Subsequently, Ms Xian outlined specific plans for this semester’s teaching development, clearly identifying priorities such as micro-specialisation construction, industry-education integration, and AI-enhanced curriculum design.

Additionally, the meeting featured discussions on the development of micro-specialisations, integration of industry and teaching, and AI-enhanced curriculum construction. Faculty members also discussed the teaching situation during the first two weeks of the semester, reinforcing the importance of teaching standardisation. Ms Xian summarised the teaching activities over the initial two weeks, highlighting the necessity of maintaining teaching standards and laying a strong foundation for orderly teaching practices. Furthermore, the seminar invited dialogue on key teaching matters, including the development of micro-specialisations, industry-education integration, and AI-enhanced curriculum construction. The meeting also invited further discussions regarding postgraduate topics, including student management, employment support, and institutional construction.

This seminar clearly defined the direction for teaching in the new semester, placing connotative development at the core, supported by industry-education integration and AI technology empowerment. Faculty members in the Department of Digital Media Art expressed their commitment to approaching the new semester with enthusiasm, dedication, and a rigorous approach to further enhance the quality of teaching and development of the department.
